Iron Maiden album covers all feature distinctly different artwork and incarnations of the band’s mascot Eddie. Over 30 years and fourteen covers, the only facet that remains steady is the typeface of the band’s name. The changing of the covers reflects the changes within the band, and also the shifting historical and theoretical approaches to metal. These ideas will be explored through a fictocritical approach, combining theories with fictional techniques.

Through fictocriticism, I will explore the abstract metaphor of a cough, presenting it as a hypertextual approach through uses of different social media platforms. This will allow me to creatively explore matters of identity and experience in a multi–layered and more connected way.
An interruption is something that breaks continuity or stops something from happening. Interruptions can make our lives interesting and more engaging by introducing unpredictable elements but they can also dispense disturbance and irritation if the interruption is unpleasant.
